These two teachers represent the best of teaching in the SRVUSD and we are delighted to see them continue to be honored for their work. We know you join us in wishing Courtney and Sarah a hearty congratulations on their county selection and best wishes for success at the State level!

Pending Matters:

  • Annual Update -

    • Now, more than ever, it is crucial that we have up-to-date email and other contact information for every SRVUSD family. If you have not already done so, please complete the Annual Update in the Parent Portal.

  • Childcare -

    • The District and the on-site childcare providers are continuing to work on options for the 2020-21 school year.

  • FAQ -

  • Negotiations -

    • The District continues to engage in productive negotiations with our teachers union (SRVEA) to finalize plans for the opening of school. We want to thank the SRVEA bargaining team for the collaborative sessions and look forward to finalizing negotiations very soon.

  • Waiver -

    • Districts are still waiting for information from the State about what is involved with requesting a waiver

    • As of right now, SRVUSD does not plan to apply for the waiver

      • We are working with public health regarding safety and will have more information at the Board Meeting on Tuesday.

Encouraging Developments:

The District has started to offer optional Professional Development (PD), for both certificated and classified staff, to prepare for distance learning. The first day of training was Tuesday, July 28th and we had over 1,000 participants! Many thanks go out to the educators and support staff who are participating in training during the summer. Their commitment to students and perfecting their craft is laudable and reflective of the level of dedication that exists in this District.

Superintendent Changing of the Guard:

We want to take this opportunity to thank outgoing Superintendent Rick Schmitt for his time in our District and to wish him all the best in his future endeavors. August 1st marks the official start date for our new Superintendent, Dr. John Malloy. We are pleased to welcome Dr. Malloy to the SRVUSD and look forward to our future under his leadership.
